He Had to be Made Like Us

For this reason he had to be made like them… (Hebrews 2:17a)

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us… (John 1:14a)

And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself… (Philippians 2:8a)

Will we ever truly understand the magnitude of God Himself becoming like us and what that says about the power and wonder of His love? Like a loving father who gets down on his knees so he can look into the eyes of his four year-old, there is enduring affection in the majestic reaching down to the simple.

As a teacher, it has often been a challenge to grasp such concepts within the bounds of humanity and life on this mortal coil.

This video, I think, provides a wonderfully simple sermon illustration of what are very lofty and very miraculous concepts.

God with us.
