Jasmine’s Ministry of Caring

I don’t always recommend using animals in sermon illustrations, for reasons that are probably obvious. But sometimes, an animal can touch the hearts of an audience and help support a Biblical point.

I think Jasmine is one of those animals.

Jasmine is a greyhound who was discovered abused in Warwickshire England in 2003 by a local police officer. She was taken to the local wildlife shelter where her story really began. Once she had been nursed back to health, Jasmine began an unusual ministry of her own, caring for and mothering all of the other animals at the shelter, who were strangely drawn to her. Owls love Jasmine. As do bunnies, foxes, gerbils and more.

The two videos below tell Jasmine’s story of caring poignantly.
