See how good and pleasant it is when brothers and sisters live together in harmony! Psalm 133:1

Our bodies have many parts, but these parts don’t all do the same thing. In the same way, even though we are many individuals, Christ makes us one body and individuals who are connected to each other. Romans 12:4-5

My precious pastor often reminds me, “We need each other.” I think he’s right, as he always is.

And I also think that a Yale University study that purports to provide data on the “The Moral Life of Babies” may also (or instead) reflect on just that need. That is, I suggest the study shows how we are from (or in) the womb, God-wired to live in community.

I won’t argue against the primary thesis of the study (video below) in which babies can identify who is “good” and who is “bad.” But I will suggest that the video may demonstrate that we are born with a sense of “each-otherness,” able to understand very early what behavior makes for a good relationship and what makes for a bad one.
